WHAT DOES FREEDOM MEAN TO YOU.
Maybe freedom means leaving it all behind on Friday afternoon and having the time of your life every weekend. Maybe it means being able to set your own hours but doing whatever work they ask so long as you get the paycheck. Maybe it means working from any locale on earth and making it to the beach every summer for one month. Maybe it means having no boss and being the master of your own destiny, even if you are working yourself to the bone. Your freedom may be someone else’s cage. Don’t judge others. What matters is that you look deep inside and find out what gives you the ultimate freedom in your life. To me, freedom means living in a free country, something that most may take for granted every day not because they are ungrateful or out of touch with reality, not at all, simply because they cannot imagine NOT living in a free country since that is all they have ever known. After all, how can you know what you have never known or experienced?
I must not fail to express my indignation as regards the lingering injustice, marginalisation and psychological trauma the Igbos have been subjected to by the ruling elite in Nigeria. The hostility and animosity toward us continues unabated even up to this day. They hate us yet they don’t want us to go our separate way. Exposing the monumental century-old Lugardian lie unilaterally told in 1914 should rather constitute a “task that must be done” than keeping Nigeria one since "One Nigeria" as I've always heard from childhood is merely seen on paper than in reality. Freedom to me like earlier stated is " Living in a free country, one in which everyone is treated as equal without any form of marginalization.
I Love Nigeria, but I Love Biafra Most.
But wait.... Will Biafra ever come true or will it forever be a Fairy tale? What do you think?
